Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro is located at the gateway to the Virginia wine country and is proud to support local and regional producers of wine, beer, and spirits.
We use the season and our location for inspiration and combine both classic and modern techniques to bring forth a familiar cuisine that is approachable, relaxed, simple, but never boring.

Private Events

The staff at Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro would be happy to help you with your private dining needs.  Our Private Bottle Room can accommodate up to thirty guests for a seated event and weather permitting, can open up to our garden terrace which can accommodate up to fifty guests.   

For parties up to 15 guests, your party may select from our full menu, prepared daily by the chef to include the freshest seasonal ingredients.  For larger parties, we offer the convenience of an individually prepared prix-fix menu. 


Private Dining Room

Our Private Bottle Room can accommodate up to thirty guests for a seated event and weather permitting, can open up to our garden terrace which can accommodate up to fifty guests.   


Surrounded by different garden beds and furnished with both furniture perfect for lounging and beautiful fire pits, our patio and terrace can accommodate both standing receptions or seated functions.  Our garden terrace features a beautiful grape covered pergola and can be set for intimate dining or larger wine dinners.  Pulling from European influences, our patio and terrace event spaces provide a unique venue for your next event.

Bar & Lounge

Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro can also accommodate your reception or cocktail function in our Tasting Room or on our garden patio for groups up to 80 in a semi-private stand up atmosphere featuring customizable drink menus and food options.  

For larger functions, Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro can be booked as a private dining or event venue with full services including customizable menus, drink options, and service styles.  For further information please contact our event booking staff.

Our Team

Our team of professionals is dedicating to providing you with the finest experience in Northern Virginia.  From a casual bite and pint on our lush patio, to a crafted tasting menu with full wine pairings, our chefs and sommeliers will delight and surprise you.  

Richard Falbo

Executive Chef

Chef Falbo brings over twenty years of experience to Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro. Rich began his culinary career after a brief study period in Italy, graduating from Texas Tech University with a degree in Hospitality Management. He spent a few years as a journeyman chef before finally attending the New England Culinary Institute. Upon graduation, he tried out and qualified for culinary instructor and worked there for several years teaching a wide variety of classes and developing a love for charcuterie and cheeses before relocating back to Texas. Rich has worked in venues including resorts in both Texas and on Maui as well as for McGuire Moorman Hospitality in Austin where he was the chef for two of their restaurants, Lambert’s and Perla’s. While working for Perla’s, Falbo developed a passion for sustainable seafood and oysters, and worked to develop Perla’s into one of the busiest seafood restaurants in Texas. During his time in Texas, Chef Falbo also worked for the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts as an instructor for the only culinary school affiliated with the historic Escoffier family. Upon moving to the D.C. area, Rich worked for a year and half with Passion Food Hospitality, eventually opening Passionfish Bethesda as the chef de cuisine. Falbo is very excited to be involved with the next stage of evolution that is happening at Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro and looks forward to sharing his passion for food with guests.
